You can also put in a wish list for reader's theater materials at Donor's Choose, an online charity connecting donors with classrooms in need.
Also ask your community partners and local businesses! Most schools have community or business partners that help them fund needs ranging from erasers to computers. These organizations or local foundations are eager to support literacy and reading and may take their support one step further if asked directly by a teacher with passion for reading. Check with your principal to obtain a list of your school’s partners.
Offer to invite your potential donor to your reader's theater performance and invite the local paper, too, to capture your donor's picture for the news. Also offer to provide your donor with the results of your students' growth in reading skills by employing a simple pre- and post- assessment (module provided by Playbooks, just call us for details). |
